Three adults whose rubber dinghy started drifting out to sea sparked an emergency alert at Sea Palling this afternoon.
RNLI lifeguards spotted the incident, about 400 yards from shore between reefs four and five.
Happisburgh's inshore lifeboat was launched just before 4pm but the trio, with help from the lifeguards, managed to get themselves back to shore safely.
