The former chief executive of English Heritage will be giving a talk on the places which shaped the Tudor world.

Author and historian Dr Simon Thurley will be appearing at King’s Lynn Town Hall on Thursday (7.30pm).

He has recently published Houses of Power, a book he has spent 30 years researching on the Tudors and their great houses and palaces.

Their homes were at the centre of everything from military operations to international politics.

They were home to courtiers, who lived alongside the royalty of the day, following the complicated conventions of the court.

Tickets for the talk, priced £10, which includes a glass of wine, are available on the door or in advance from AdrianRLing@btinternet.com.

Proceeds from the evening will go towards All Saints Church and the mayor’s charities.
