Although they may not be allowed in the store some furry friends have been busy raising money in a South Norfolk supermarket.

A group of dogs and their owners from friends of the The Barking Bugle raised more than £500 from a bucket shake held outside of Tesco in Hunstanton.

As well as money raised, shoppers donated two trollies full of food to help animals at the Pact Animal Sanctuary.

Frodo Cavalier, the editor of Barking Bugle, said: “We were absolutely overwhelmed by the amount received. There certainly was a lot of Christmas spirit around.

“Pact Animal Sanctuary was one of our chosen charities for 2017 and we are delighted to be able to make such a large contribution to help neglected, injured and abandoned animals.”

The Barking Bugle is an online newspaper and dog tourist guide based in Norfolk.
