Diss restaurant serves up 10st fish
It tips the scales at 10 stone, measures five foot seven inches in length and is about to become a star attraction at a Diss restaurant.
This massive catfish-like specimen, commonly known as a tiger fish, has been flown in from Bangladesh to be prepared for customers at Diss Tandoori.
According to staff at the Shelfanger Road restaurant, this example of the rare fish is the largest they have ever seen and fishermen are lucky if they manage to land one of these fresh water beasts once in a decade.
After spotting a picture of a caught tiger fish in a Bangladeshi newspaper, the management team set about hunting one down to bring to the UK.
After weeks of calls to suppliers they heard that another had been caught in the country's Padma river and immediately placed a successful bid.
Four months later, the frozen tiger fish with a price tag of �360 arrived in Diss at the weekend - although it took a seven seater van to transport it and has to be kept at a friend's business in Norwich because the restaurant's freezer is not big enough.
When cooked, which should take about three hours, it will be able to feed about 80 people. The fish will be served during a celebratory evening at the restaurant on March 10 which will include a special one-off fish menu.

It will be the first time in the restaurant's 25 year history that staff will be able to serve up the Bangladeshi delicacy.
Manager Sujan Khaan: 'Once in a decade you get one of these fish. They are very rare to catch.
'In my lifetime I have never seen anything bigger than that and we're happy to get one like this and serve it in this environment. People can have it and taste our fish from back home.
'In this country you have salmon fish which is very famous and rather expensive. This fish back home is very famous and expensive because it's hard to get one. I'm really excited to be serving it.'
