Diss Market Place falls silent for Remembrance Day

The busy Diss market day ground to a halt this morning as hundreds of people gathered to remain the sacrifices of soldiers during the two minute silence.

Canon Tony Billett, rector of Diss church, led the service which was attended by members of the Diss branch of the Royal British Legion, the Royal Air Force Association and cadets from the 1070 Diss squadron, Air Training Corps.

The Last Post and Reveille was sounded and the Ode of Remembrance read out as silence fell across the town centre.
