For 35 years it has been a group where photographers can admire each other's work and pass on tips on capturing the best and most evocative images.

The Diss and District Camera Club was formed in September 1980 and is now gearing up to present its annual exhibition in the town.

The club, which has about 30 members, is holding its annual showcase from Thursday, September 22 to Saturday, September 24 at St Mary's Church.

Members are exhibiting four to six images each, and there is an open theme this year.

Among the images Krys and Mike Wakefield have experimented with multi-exposures and photographer Lee Acaster has submitted eye-catching images in black and white of Saxtead Green Post Mil, south of Diss, and Wells beach in north Norfolk.

John Hutton, spokesman for the club, said: 'The members of Diss and District Camera Club are keenly anticipating the opportunity to showcase a selection of their images at their annual photographic exhibition at St Mary's Church in Diss. 'All the images will be displayed in matching frames, which the club hopes will unify the diverse range of subject matter, and will improve the presentation.

'Visitors can vote for their three favourite images which the members enjoy as a form of feedback.

'In recent years there has been a good spread of votes which reflects the wide variety of images and also shows how the visitors demonstrate different preferences in the images they find most appealing.

'All the images are available for purchase if visitors see something they like and want to take something home with them.'

The exhibition is open 10am to 4pm each day of the exhibition. Admission is free, and members will be in attendance to provide information about the images being exhibited and the group's programme of events.

The club meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month from September to May at the Grasmere Club in Denmark Street in Diss.
