As a child, the school disco was often the most exciting night of the year.
The tuck shop stocked all the classics, hits of the day were on a loop and normally formal teachers dressed down for the occasion.
The thrill of being in school after hours was as exciting as ever, as parents and teachers acted as chaperones for the evening.
And moving into early teenage years, there were awkward lines of boys and girls, reluctant to mix, and the straight-backed slow dance at the end of the night.
In these pictures, youngsters enjoy a school disco in Easton, while teeny boppers in King’s Lynn take on the conga.
