Marie Curie is calling on East Anglian food fans to host a retro-inspired dinner party in aid of this remarkable charity during November.
Retro food is having a revival and Marie Curie's new fundraising campaign, Dinner Down Memory Lane, is about holding a dinner party and recreating your favourite nostalgic food.
By inviting friends to make a donation in return for a dinner with a difference, you'll be helping Marie Curie Nurses to provide care and support to people living with a terminal illness and their families.
From foodies to celebrity chefs, everyone is getting in on the retro food revival. Dinner Down Memory Lane is your chance to bring friends together and remember your favourite flavours from back in the day.
Whether you recreate time-honoured classics like duck à l'orange and prawn cocktail or are just nostalgic for knickerbocker glory, your dinner party will help Marie Curie care for more people living with a terminal illness in Norfolk and Suffolk.
Hosting a retro-inspired dinner party is a great excuse get friends together and try out some classic dishes – from heritage recipes that have stood the test of time to old family favourites. Or you might want to surprise your guests with something a little different – like contemporary retro recipes.
Richard Bainbridge, chef proprietor of Benedicts in the heart of Norwich, has already signed up to back the fundraising campaign. 'A modern twist on retro food is very much my bag,' says Richard, who opened his restaurant earlier this year. 'I believe food is built on memories.'
He adds: 'I think Marie Curie do amazing work, and I wish we'd known about them when my grandparents were coming to the end of their lives. Just knowing you could have that extra support, even just someone to talk to at times, must make it an easier ride at the end.'

Marie Curie's new campaign is encouraging people to host their dinner parties in November, so choose a date that's suitable for you and your guests.
