A free workshop will give businesses a great opportunity to learn how to best use marketing in a digital world.

The event, called Digital Decoded, will be held in Fakenham next month and is being run by Archant, publisher of this newspaper.

Jamie Brown from Archant will speak at the event. He said: "The idea is to demystify the murky world of digital and modern marketing.

"We will cover how to get the most out of all of your marketing, not just online but offline as well.

"We see people devote everything to one method, and it just doesn't work. There is a bit of science to it, and we will take you through it.

"We've held sessions like this last year and they have been really well attended. Any business who wants more leads or to understand how to make their marketing more effective should come along."

This is the third event of its type to be held in Norfolk, and the first to be held in association with another organisation. Community group Active Fakenham has teamed up with Archant to hold the event, after successfully collaborating on the Enjoy Fakenham More project.

Richard Crook, from Active Fakenham, said: "This is the first time we have had a major event like this.

"We're always looking to do new things to bring our vibrant town's businesses into the 21st century. It's the sort of event any north Norfolk business might be interested in. We're very excited to be working with Archant on this."

Andrew Orchard, client director from Archant, said: "Traditionally, businesses relied on people coming in, or the phone ringing. Those days are long gone, and now people do plenty of research online before deciding to buy. You need to have clear stand out to do business 24/7, and visibility online is crucial nowadays.

"It's the Eastern Daily Press' 150th anniversary next year, so we have years of knowledge. We're proud of our heritage although we are re-shaping how we help business in today's world.

"Take advantage of this free marketing session event which can help your business succeed now and in the future."

Another event will be held in Norwich later in the year.

The workshop will be at The Gallow Fakenham Sport Centre, at 8.15am and 11.30am on October 23. Book online at archanthub.co.uk/digitaldecoded
