A couple are hoping to raise thousands of pounds for charity by taking part in a 3,000-mile rally around Europe.
Jeremy Splude and Leanne Kendrick are looking forward to taking part in Landy Rally after signing up for the charity drive because they wanted a 'holiday with a difference'.
The rally will see the Dersingham couple take in the Alps and Pyrenees, as well as passing through 11 countries including Italy, Spain and Andorra. Miss Kendrick said the rally will begin in Holland next Wednesday and end on September 22 and their team name is Jifflin Pollywiggles, which means fidgeting tadpoles in Norfolk 'speak'.
She said: 'The Land Rally is a fun, competitive event with points awarded for 'thinking outside the box' and individuality as well as treasure hunts whilst raising money for charity all at the same time.
'We are both really looking forward to taking part because we know it is going to be a really interesting experience. I am, however, a bit apprehensive about the driving aspect, but other than that I cannot wait to get going.
So far the pair have raised 1,300 for the King's Lynn branch of the Samaritans but are hoping for more.
The couple will be travelling in a Land Rover Discovery 2 which has been prepared for off-road use.
Miss Kendrick continued: 'We have already exchanged a few e-mails with some of the other teams and are hoping to meet up with some of them this weekend which will be good.'
