A football lover who helped to establish the Dereham Town youth team will be remembered in a charity match at Aldiss Park on Saturday.

Dereham Town will play Braintree Town for the Colin Wright memorial trophy to raise money for the Big C Cancer Charity.

Mr Wright first got involved in football in the early 1980s when he established the Mid-Norfolk Rovers, who later became the Mid-Norfolk Rangers.

In 1991 he helped set up Dereham Town Youth and was also important in helping with the club's move to Aldiss Park in 1996.

He served as a committee member for many years and also hosted a popular monthly quiz night at the club before he died in September 2015 of stomach cancer aged 69.

The game will kick off at 3pm with tickets available to purchase at the gate.
