A heating and plumbing firm has closed with the loss of six jobs after struggling to obtain work amid tough times for the construction sector.
R J Drury Plumbing and Heating, which was registered to Market Place, Dereham, entered liquidation earlier this month with insolvency practitioner Jamie Playford appointed to oversee the process.
The company provided installation and maintenance services and specialised in care homes throughout Norfolk. Mr Playford said the firm had ceased trading in August, owing £92,500 to creditors, after changes in the industry left it struggling to secure new contracts.
He added: 'We have seen a trend of business failures in the construction-related trades this year, such as joiners, electricians, plumbers and others.'
Mr Playford urged other businesses to review their business 'objectively and carefully consider their work pipeline and overheads'.
