They have had no sleep for three days but in just a few short hours a Dereham team of drummers will complete an epic 80-hour drumming marathon, securing them a well-deserved place back in the Guinness World Book of Records.
The five drummers from JDT Music Academy started their endurance effort at 10am on Friday and will play their final beat at 6pm this evening in front of family and friends at their base in Charles Wood Road.
The team have held the record twice before, in 2002 and 2007, and thought the record was theirs again last year when they drummed non-stop for 72 hours and one minute.
But a fault in one of the cameras meant a gap in the footage and their attempt was rejected by Guinness.
This time Holly Jones, Lorraine Dorrington, Aaron Houseago, Ryan Murray and Janel Spalding are confident the technology will not let them down.
They have already surpassed last year's time and earlier today broke the current world record of 65 hours.
