A care home in Dereham is marking its 150th anniversary with the opening of a new sensory garden.
This unique space at Bilney Hall will provide residents, many of whom live with dementia, with year-round stimulation for their senses.
Flowers, fruit and vegetables that provide sensory stimulation through colour and scents have been planted and landscaping has been undertaken by staff, residents and volunteers.
An official opening will be held on Wednesday, August 23, and a resident with vascular dementia will be a key part of the team to open it. Graham Mason has lived at the home since last year and has helped to plant, water and maintain the new garden.
A spokesperson for the home said: 'His efforts are amazing - it seemed fitting for him to officially open the new space.'
Also in attendance will be a descendant of William Collison who built the hall 150 years ago.
