Kindhearted youngsters at one Lowestoft-area primary school have been praised for their entrepreneurial spirit.
A group of enterprising year six girls from Dell Primary School (Academy) organised a fundraiser for The Leprosy Mission charity.
Shannon, Emily, Annabelle, Katie and Lizzie had a target to raise £50, which would fund a school starter pack for a leprosy sufferer in Africa.
A spokesman for the school in Dell Road said: 'The girls organised a lucky dip and a hoopla game at lunchtimes and break times, at 50p a go, for two days last week. They totally smashed that target and raised £215.57! On top of the school starter pack they have chosen to gift a bicycle and also some hospital supplies to those in need.
'We are so proud of these year six girls who approached the head a few weeks ago with their idea. They have organised it themselves and made the banner, with very little intervention by adults as the whole thing has proved to be a huge success.'
