Death of infant at property in Lakenham is “unexplained”

Police are investigating after an infant died at a property in Norwich this afternoon.

Officers were called to the home in Netherwood Green, near County Hall in Lakenham, shortly after 1pm, because of concerns for the welfare of a child.

Police and paramedics attended, but the infant was pronounced dead at the scene.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained, and the property has been sealed off while initial enquiries are carried out.

Police have not released the gender, or the exact age, of the child.
