A drug dealer found with more than 6,000 ecstasy tablets with a street value of £50,000 was yesterday jailed for six-and-a-half years. Police officers stopped Adam Burroughs's car on Thorpe Road, Norwich, and found 17 ecstasy tablets, Norwich Crown Court heard.

Police officers stopped Adam Burroughs's car on Thorpe Road, Norwich, and found 17 ecstasy tablets, Norwich Crown Court heard.

Richard Woods, prosecuting, said the officers managed to stop him swallowing the tablets but he struggled violently with officers, injuring one of them, before finally being arrested.

Police searched his home in Thor Close, Thorpe St Andrew, and found more than £3,000 cash and 6,700 ecstasy tablets.

Burroughs, 36, who had previous convictions for drug dealing, admitted possession of drugs with intent to supply.
