David Gooch, 56, died on March 16 at the scene of the crash on Salhouse Road.

Mr Gooch, of The Street, Honing, North Walsham, had been riding a motorbike when the crash with a Scania HGV took place around 8.50am.

Police were called to the scene and the road was closed for around four hours. Mr Gooch, a carpenter, died while the driver of the HGV was uninjured.

At the opening of the inquest into his death today (Thursday), Norfolk Coroner's Court heard how Mr Gooch's daughter, Stephanie Flaxman, had identified her father's body to Norfolk Constabulary's PC Watson on March 28.

Senior coroner for Norfolk Jacqueline Lake said pathologist Dr Ragesh Logasundaram gave the medical cause of death as injuries to the chest, abdomen, and head due to a road traffic collision.

A full inquest will be held on September 27 at 2pm, at Norfolk Coroner's Court.
