A charity baker is returning to Beccles once again as he continues his quest to raise £100,000 for Help for Heroes.

David Brown, of Burgh St Peter, will be appearing in Exchange Square on Saturday, October 6.

Mr Brown first began selling homemade cakes, savouries and chutneys in 2009.

What began as a small operation with his late wife Pat blossomed into a incredible charity challenge - with around £80,000 already raised.

The couple were inspired to raise funds for the charity by their daughter Sally William, who served in the army for 24 years.

As he returns to Exchange Square once again he will be selling his ever popular individual sausage rolls, beef pasties, lamb pasties and ploughman’s pasties along with a selection of homemade cakes.

Mr Brown revealed the secret to his sausage rolls was shortcrust pastry.

He said: “I use traditional shortcrust pastry instead of puff and I can’t make enough of them it seems.”

To pre-order treats from Mr Brown in advance call 01502 677225.
