Darren Wright had been cutting hair in Attleborough since August 2004, having previously worked at major stage events such as The Clothes Show and Salon International.

In a video on his website, he spoke of a desire to bring a 'fresh, city approach to the hairdressing industry in Attleborough' when he arrived 14 years ago and his aim to provide a 'good, honest service'.

His death came after police were called to his Salonfx premises in Edenside Drive, Attleborough at around 9pm on Tuesday, April 17 following concerns that had been raised for someone's safety.

A Norfolk police spokesman said: 'A male was declared deceased at the scene. There are no suspicious circumstances.'

Attleborough mayor Jeremy Burton said of Mr Wright: 'He was popular in the town.

'I would often see him walking backwards and forwards to his work. He would always say hello and ask how you were.

'He will be missed in the town. He kept himself to himself but he was a character in the town and always pleasant to speak to.'

On his website, Mr Wright highlighted his experience cutting men's and ladies' hair, pledging that clients would leave happy with their new style.

In a video produced for the Salonfx website, Mr Wright said: 'When I first began cutting hair, I realised that by cutting someone's hair you really were changing the way they looked.

'You found that if you did that job right, how happy you made that individual feel.

'I saw in Attleborough there was a market for a different type of salon. There were two or three really good salons here but the people involved were a little bit older than me,

'I just felt there would be a little market there for me and I could come in a give a fresh, city approach to the hairdressing industry in Attleborough. I think I've fitted into the market quite well.'
