The Graffiti Street show, presented by Emma Wooltorton’s Dance School, saw dancers from as young as five performing a variety of hip hop routines to sold-out audiences over two shows at Beccles Public Hall on February 17.

The show was put together by Beccles dance teacher Emma Wooltorton, 28, who has been running classes for the past 10 years.

The event was the culmination of a whole year of rehearsals, and Mrs Wooltorton said she was “over the moon” with how the performance went.

She said: “We really wanted to show all our friends and family what we love to do and make them proud.

“The dancers were absolutely incredible and they are all so talented, they couldn’t have made me more proud.

“Each dance routine had a different theme and there were back flips, front flips, all sorts of flips and you could really see how much they all loved it and they all acted so professional.

“We had 12 boys in the show this year too which was really nice to see a mix of boys and girls.

“The audience went mental, they were screaming and slapping their knees, it was such an amazing feeling to watch them.”

Trophies were awarded at the end of the two shows to the four dancers who had showed the most progress during classes.

The beginners trophy went to Evie Vincent, Lily Durrant won the intermediate trophy and Lois Young was presented with the advanced trophy. The final award, the boys’ trophy, went to Jordan Prior.

The show also saw around £900 being raised for Beccles Public Hall.

Mrs Wooltorton runs classes every Wednesday at St Luke’s Church in Beccles and on Thursdays at the Chaucer Club in Bungay.

She organises dance shows every two to three years as well as staging dance workshops during the school holidays.

Mrs Wooltorton thanked all her dancers for the effort they put into the show, and all those who helped backstage and bought tickets to the performance.
