The long-awaited Primark store opened its doors in King’s Lynn today.

The High Street branch has taken over the site of the former BHS store and 150 jobs have been created in the move.

A crowd of around 100 people gathered outside the store ready for it to open at 9am this morning.

The town centre site has 28,000 sq ft of trading space and means West Norfolk residents no longer have to travel to either Norwich or Cambridge to find the nearest branch.

The announcement that Primark was coming to Lynn was made more than a year ago and the building had been shrouded in scaffolding for months.
