Cromer-based charity to open second lunch club for over-60s at North Walsham

A new lunch club for the over-6Os is being launched at North Walsham by About With Friends following its successful running of a similar club at Cromer.

About With Friends has been running since 2002 to provide more than 40 adults with learning difficulties the chance to gain experience of the work environment.

The lunch clubs are run by its Catering With Friends arm which provides meals for organisations including North Norfolk District Council and Victory Housing, as well as cakes, preserves and other foodstuffs for sale at farmer's markets and shops.

The new North Walsham lunch club will be every Wednesday at the community centre from noon to 2pm. For 6 it offers a cooked two course meal followed by tea or coffee. There is also plenty of opportunity to chat with all the other guests.

The team can also provide a transport service for people in a seven-mile radius of the town, with a small additional fee of 50p to 2.

Anyone interested should call 01263 515230 after 7pm and leave a message with a name, phone number, lunch club date and if a lift is needed.
