Woman in her 70s sexually assaulted near Aldi store in Norwich

A man has been arrested after a woman in her 70s was sexually assaulted in Norwich.

The victim was walking along the path next to the river behind Aldi on Drayton Road when she was approached by a man.

The man grabbed her hand while committing a lewd act.

The victim said she would call the police and the man walked away towards the city centre.

Following the incident, which happened shortly before 7.30am on Saturday, June 9, enquiries led officers to arrest a man, aged in his 20s.

The man was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning and has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Officers are keen to hear from any witnesses or anyone with information regarding this incident.
