A woman in her 70s was mugged in broad daylight on a busy road.

The stranger pushed the victim to the ground before stealing her navy blue handbag, which contained the pensioner’s cash and bank cards.

The robbery happened on Nelson Road Central in Great Yarmouth on Monday morning, just after 11am, near St Georges Road and the Colonel H pub.

The man is described as black, wearing a long black coat with the hood up and wearing a baseball cap. He also had grey tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident, particularly a man wearing a green t-shirt and black trousers and the occupants of a blue people carrier who were seen in the area at the time of the incident.

Witnesses should contact DC Beth Burton at Great Yarmouth CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
