The man who was killed during a fatal stabbing in Lowestoft has been named as Scotty Tarrant.

Tributes to the 28-year-old, who died on Saturday, July 7 following the knife attack in Underwood Close, have flooded in on Facebook and Twitter.

Jess Nelson said: 'Such a sad day, yet another knife killing but this time in our small town. RIP Scotty Tarrant it was not your time, our thoughts are with the family, friends and other loved ones at this time.'

Another friend Grant Nelson said: 'RIP Scotty Tarrant - lost for words to be honest. Taken too soon such a waste, we didn't see each other as much but I always classed you as a brother. Thoughts are with all your family. Love you bro.'

Kyle Winyard, who went to school with the victim, said: 'Wow waking up to the news your best mate from school is no longer with us, can't believe it. RIP Scotty Tarrant, mate was a great friend. Legend. Thinking of the family.'

Another friend Amy Roberts said: 'The world we live in is a horrible place, I feel sick to be raising children into it. RIP Scotty Tarrant - thinking of your family.'

While Ben Buckenham said: 'Can't believe what I'm seeing. RIP Scotty Tarrant thoughts are with you and your family.'

Police were called to the scene at 11.14pm on Saturday after reports a 28-year-old man had sustained serious injuries.

Mr Tarrant was treated by emergency services at the scene for stab wounds before being transferred to James Paget Hospital in Gorleston where he later died.

A 23-year-old man from Lowestoft was arrested on suspicion of murder. He was taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning where he remains.
