A couple admitted to claiming thousands through false refunds, King's Lynn magistrates' court heard.

Richard Foreman, 37, and Tara Foreman, 38, both of High Road, Tilney cum Islington, near King's Lynn, pleaded guilty to fraud by false representation when they appeared in King's Lynn magistrates' court.

At an earlier hearing, the court heard the couple had claimed refunds on items they did not buy to a value of £5,164.80 between September and December 2016.

But Rob New, mitigating for the couple, said they had legitimately purchased and later refunded some of the items, which reduces the value to around £3,500.

District judge Nicholas Watson said evidence of the receipts would have to be brought to the couple's next hearing, on November 16.

Tara Foreman also pleaded guilty to theft by employee, after she stole £265 worth of vouchers from her former workplace in Argos, King's Lynn, between October and November 2016.

The couple were released on unconditional bail.
