A 17-year-old has described the moment two men attacked her while she was on the way to a friend’s house.
Paige Harper, from Thetford, was walking to a friend's house down an alleyway off Staniforth Road, near The Charles Burrell Centre, at about 12.30pm on Thursday, August, 15, when she was set upon by two men dressed in black.
The student said: "I was walking from my house to my friend's, who lives like five minutes away.
"I had my earphones in full blast so I couldn't hear anything, as I got to the bottom of the alleyway next to the Charles Burrell Centre I looked up to see where is was going and as I looked up I was punched in my mouth.
"That split my lip inside because I have a piercing in my mouth, they then carried on with a few more punches until one grabbed my arm and the other started to attack my face and get my stomach."
The attack left Miss Harper with a split lip and scratches to her face and stomach. The ordeal only ended when a passer-by disturbed the men causing them to flee the scene.
She added: "They just ran and I took my earphones out looked behind me and there was a woman at the top of the alleyway.
"I'm guessing that's why they ran. I panicked so much and didn't know what to do so I just carried on running to my friend's house."
When Miss Harper got to her friend's house they attempted to contact her mother and boyfriend. Her friend called her own mother who came to the house and called the police.
She added: "I was very confused. I was so shaken-up, had no idea what happened, where they come from.
"I use that alley way nearly everyday, and I've always felt safe walking down there."
Police are appealing for witnesses and information about the attack in particular a woman who disturbed the scene.
Anyone with information should contact Norfolk Police on 101 quoting the crime reference number 36/56921/19.
