A 46-year-old man has been charged in connection with the theft of a charity collection from a church in north Norfolk.

David Gricks, of no fixed abode, has been charged with theft, attempted theft and possession of cannabis.

Gricks is accused of stealing an unknown amount of money from a donation box in St Peter’s Church, Sheringham, on January 18 and attempting to steal money from the church on Thursday, February 7.

He also faces a drug possession charge after being found with cannabis when he was arrested in West Runton on February 7.

Gricks has been released on bail to appear at Norwich magistrates’ court on Tuesday, March 5.
