A Swaffham man sexually assaulted a vulnerable 17-year-old girl and took an indecent photograph of her, a court heard.

Peter Cole, 40, told the girl after sexually abusing her that she should keep what happened a secret, Norwich Crown Court heard.

Cole of Mayfly Road, Swaffham, admitted sexually assaulting the teenager and taking an indecent photo of her and was jailed for 10 months and placed on the sex offender’s register.

He was also made subject to a sexual harm prevention order.

Claire Matthews, for Cole, said he was the main carer for his disabled wife and any punishment would be hard on her as she relied on him for emotional and practical care.

“He is her primary carer.”

She said Cole had suffered a head injury in a car accident and also had difficulties.
