Police arrested a man on suspicion of drink driving overnight after he crashed into a wall in King’s Lynn.

It happened on Gaywood Road, and King’s Lynn Police tweeted just before 1am to the man had been arrested.

They said: “Provided a reading of 72 in custody. Now in the cells awaiting interview.”

In England the drink driving limit is 35 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

The arrest was the latest in a spate of drink driving incidents over the weekend.

Yesterday, also in King’s Lynn, a driver on the A47 at East Winch gave a reading of nearly four times the legal limit.

Another was caught doing 70mph in a 40mph limit with the lights on his car switched off and a further driver stopped by police in Lynn was three times the legal limit.

While in Norwich a car ended up on its roof on Ketts Hill, and the driver arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
