Several arrests were made, including for assaulting a police officer, at an illegal rave in rural north Norfolk.

Police were called to a derelict farm building near Walsingham.

Officers attended the unlicensed event, which started in the early hours of the morning on Sunday, October 28 and went on until Sunday afternoon.

A number of arrests were made for driving offences, criminal damage to a mobile phone and assaulting a police officer.

A number of vehicles obstructing the highway were also issued traffic offence reports for parking in dangerous positions.

Inspector Ed Brown of North Norfolk Police said: 'Clearly this sort of event still has an appeal for some people.

'People attending really do need to think about their personal safety. It was pitch black and the buildings were not safe to use particularly with the amount of people that wanted to be inside the barns.

'In the event of a medical emergency, ambulances would have had difficulty reaching the location.

'I would strongly encourage anyone to think twice about participating in this activity.

'Those organising also need to realise they are putting people at risk'.
