Serial killer Joanna Dennehy has reportedly tried to kill herself in a suicide pact with her prison girlfriend.

The Sun has reported that Dennehy – who is serving a whole life sentence for stabbing three men to death in March 13 and knifing a further two who survived – was found with her throat cut.

Her lover, whose identity is unknown, is believed to have slit her wrists.

The pair were reportedly taken to hospital for treatment before being returned to HMP Bronzefield in Surrey.

They have reportedly been returned to HMP Bronzefield after receiving hospital treatment.

A source told The Sun: “When the guards found them they were entwined on the floor, which was covered in blood. They think they need splitting up now to make sure it doesn’t happen again.”

A Norfolk detective gave murder squad officers hunting for Joanna Dennehy the “golden nugget” to bring her reign of terror to an end in 2013.

Dennehy and accomplice Gary Stretch hid out in Norfolk during Easter weekend of that year.
