A driver who was stopped by police for using a phone was then found to be driving under the influence and in possession of cannabis.

A driver who was stopped by police for using a phone was then found to be driving under the influence and in possession of cannabis.

It happened in Sale Road, Norwich, on Sunday at around 10am.

Sergeant Chris Harris, from Norfolk and Suffolk Roads Policing, tweeted: 'Busy day today with Norfolk and Suffolk Roads Policing team. Stopped a driver using a phone in Norwich, who then provided a positive [roadside drug test], then was found in possession of 35g of herbal cannabis. Driver arrested on suspicion of all offences.'

Also today, in the west of the county, roads policing officers stopped at Audi travelling at 124mph on the A47 at Terrington St John.

The driver also failed a roadside drug test and was arrested on suspicion of drug driving.
