Road reopens following fatal crash on the A1067 at Great Witchingham

The A1067 road at Great Witchingham has now reopened after being closed for more than 10 hours following a fatal crash.

A man in his twenties died following the collision which happened shortly before 9am and involved four vehicles.

The crash involved a white VW Caddy van, a red Honda Civic, a black Vauxhall Corsa, and a grey Seat Ateca

The driver of the van died at the scene, and the occupants of the other vehicles sustained minor injuries.

One driver suffered no injuries in the collision, while another sustained a cut to her face, and the third driver suffered bruising.

The police, fire and ambulance services all attended the incident and the road remained closed until shortly after 7.30pm this evening.

The ambulance service had been called out at 8.50am this morning and sent two crews, an ambulance officer, and a rapid response vehicle to the accident. The East Anglian Air Ambulance was also called out to the scene.

Fire crews from Reepham, Dereham and Earlham were alerted shortly before 9am and arrived by 9.06am. Firefighters rescued people who were trapped in their vehicles and assisted police officers and paramedics. The last fire crews had left the scene by 11.15am.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who has information concerning the driving of any of the vehicles prior to the incident.
