A police officer who was pushed over and kicked in the stomach was one of six assaulted on Friday night in Norfolk.
The female officer was attacked while patrolling Prince of Wales Road in Norwich, along with a male colleague who was also hit in the stomach and leg.
On the same night, three other officers were attacked in the same part of the city. But Andy Symonds, chair of the Norfolk Police Federation, said they suffered less serious injury and were able to remain on duty.
Meanwhile, in West Norfolk, a police sergeant was punched in the face during an arrest in King's Lynn.
It is the latest in a string of attacks against officers within the county.
Mr Symonds said since January 1 this year, around 22 officers have been assaulted - including an officer who suffered a broken shoulder during a violent attack in King's Lynn earlier in February.
Norfolk's Police and Crime Commissioner Lorne Green described the attacks as 'abhorrent'.
Meanwhile, Chief Constable Simon Bailey 'This is bitterly disappointing, my colleagues are simply doing their job. It is totally unacceptable that they should have to be subjected to this, or any other form of abuse.'
