Nigel Kedar, from St Osyth, near Clacton, was last seen on April 4 last year, after going to visit a friend in Norwich.

The 52-year-old father and builder was last seen in the Long Stratton and Thelveton areas of Norfolk.

Members of his family, including sister Diana Mays, have made emotional appeals for information to his whereabouts, including on BBC One's Crimewatch Roadshow last summer.

But despite several appeals and extensive police work to trace Mr Kedar, he remains missing and the case appears to now be closed.

A spokesman for Norfolk Police said: 'All relevant lines of enquiry have been exhausted which unfortunately have provided no leads in the whereabouts of Nigel.

'While there are no active lines of enquiry, clearly any new information which came to light would be reviewed and acted on accordingly.'

Speaking on the BBC crime-fighting show in June last year, Mr Kedar's sister said 'he's loved' and 'we just want him home' and urged her brother - or anyone who knew where he might be - to get in touch.

In a message to her brother, she said: 'Call someone, tell them you're okay and whatever it is he feels he can't come home for, we're a strong family - we can sort it. We can help him.'

She described Mr Kedar as a 'hard worker' and a 'family man' who was 'devoted to his son' and insisted his disappearance was 'completely out of character'.

Mr Kedar drove to Norwich in his Peugeot on April 2 last year for a night out with a friend and stayed at his house.

He was unable to drive home the following morning, as a friend had let his tyres down due to concerns that he was unfit to drive after the amount of alcohol he had consumed.

The same day he phoned his work colleague to tell him he would not be coming to work.

Later that evening, his family reported him missing and he has not been seen since.

Anyone with information about Mr Kedar's whereabouts should call police on 101.
