Police catch wanted man after he is spotted ‘drunkenly cycling’ in Norfolk town three years after initial crime

A man in Dereham got more than he bargained for after officers pulled him over for “drunkenly cycling”.

A man in Dereham got more than he bargained for after officers pulled him over for “drunkenly cycling”.

Breckland Police took to Twitter to share details of his arrest which happened in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

It was after officers stopped the man for “drunkenly cycling” the wrong way on High Street, at around 2am, they made an interesting discovery.

The man, now in his 30s, was arrested and charged with theft from a shop nearly three years ago on November 30, 2015.

He was released on bail to appear at King’s Lynn Magistrates’ Court on December 18, 2015, but failed to appear.

Following Tuesday’s incident, the man was arrested at the scene and taken to custody.

He was also stopped for having no lights on his bicycle.
