The owner of an antiques shop which had £30,000 in jewellery stolen during a break in was left 'absolutely gutted' by the crime.
Chrissie Graham, 66, who runs Cromer's Fairdeal Antiques and Collectables with husband John, 64, said she was devastated by the crime, which police believe happened sometime around midnight on Tuesday, February 13.
Mrs Graham said: 'I was absolutely gutted when I found out. I'm very disappointed that somebody could do this to us. My husband and I have worked really hard over the past five years to build the business up.
'We're hardworking people and we don't ask for much.'
Mrs Graham said the culprit had broken into the shop in New Parade, Church Street, by bashing in part of a back door.
She said: 'They cut the telephone line for the shop and also for the flats above, and cut all the electrics, including the burglar alarm. Then they made a beeline straight for the window where the jewellery was.'
Mrs Graham said hundreds of pieces were stolen, including bracelets, necklaces, diamond rings and wedding rings.
She said among the most valuable items taken were a silver necklace worth £400-£500 and silver bracelet worth about £350, both of which contained rare colour-changing stones called zultanite.
Other stolen pieces included a rare diamond-shaped gold ring with three different-coloured stones, and a man's gold ring decorated with a skull.
Mrs Graham said: 'They took it all out in a couple of bags from the shop.'
But despite the setback, Mrs Graham said they were determined to carry on.
She said: 'This won't stop us from trading and we're going to be open again on Wednesday.'
DC Kevin Maskell from Great Yarmouth police appealed for witnesses.
He said: 'This is a high-value crime and I would urge anyone with information regarding the burglary to contact police.
'I would particularly like to hear from anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area in the early hours of this morning.'
