Traders and small businesses on the East Coast Business Park, on the outskirts of King's Lynn, have fought through the recession to keep going.

Now they have been left counting the cost after losing cash, laptops and motor diagnostic equipment.

Police are studying CCTV footage of the raiders who struck on Friday night.

They targeted five units on complex, off the Clenchwarton Road, just after 10pm.

A key line of enquiry is the getaway vehicle which the gang must have used to escape with its haul.

Det Con Simon Stephenson, of King's Lynn CID, said: 'This was an organised series of break-ins in which high value items were taken.

'We are sure the offenders will have used a vehicle during this crime and it will have almost certainly been parked nearby, we are keen to speak to anyone who noticed a vehicle in the area around this time.'

Wootton Motor Company, L and O Windows, Hello Garage, Nature's Grub and Qualitops, were on the receiving end.

A mechanic who works for Hello Garage, who did not want to be named, said that they had around £3,800 stolen.

'I realised something had happened when I saw a bag of laptops dumped along with an Audi A3 parked there with the keys inside outside the unit,' he said. 'I realised when I got money had been taken. We will be getting an alarm now that links to your mobile phone.'

Debbie Mott owner of the specialist pet food supplier, Nature's Grub, said her unit had been ransacked but the gang had left empty-handed.

She said: 'We don't ever leave any cash overnight after we had a break-in in the past, they went through everything, even the fridge.

'It makes us angry as we work very hard for our money and we are small businesses that employ local people. We are finding it hard as it is, it's very disappointing.'

Anyone with information or may have seen anything suspicious should call Det Con Stephenson, at Lynn CID, on 101.
