A Norwich sex offender, who breached his court order when he was found with indecent images of children, has been given a last chance to get help.
Dominic Grimes, 19, was given a two-year suspended sentence in June for having indecent images of children and inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, but just a month later when police checked up on him at his Norwich address he was found to have 75 indecent images, Norwich Crown Court heard.
Grimes, of no fixed address, admitted having indecent images of children and also inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
Chris Youell, prosecuting, said the offences put him in breach of a two- year suspended sentence.
Michael Clare, for Grimes, said the defendant recognised he needed help: 'He's 19 and he is now working on the problem. He deserves a second chance.'
Judge Stephen Holt said his main concern was protecting young children and said the best way to do this was to get Grimes the help he needed.
The judge imposed a five-week custodial sentence to cover the time Grimes had spent on remand but said the two-year suspended term would be activated if there were any further breaches.
Grimes is already on the sex offenders' register.
