A 22-year-old has been charged with murder after a man was stabbed multiple times at a Norwich car park.

Police were called to the Rose Lane car park just after midnight on Saturday, June 23, to reports a man had been stabbed.

The victim, David Hastings, 48, of Long Row, Norwich, was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, but died from his injuries.

A Home Office post mortem examination, which was carried out today (Sunday, June 24), revealed that he died from multiple stab wounds, police said.

Rolands Heinbergs, 22, of no fixed address, has been charged with murder in connection with the incident.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Norwich Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Monday, June 25).

A police cordon remains in place around the scene of the incident. However local roads around Rose Lane have been reopened and are accessible to traffic.
