A man will be sentenced next week after admitting theft and robbery offences.

Dara O’Carroll, 24, of Knowland Grove, Norwich, was charged with theft of a bottle of wine belonging to Tesco on June 18 and a further offence of robbery on the same date.

O’Carroll, who was wearing a white T-shirt and jogging bottoms, appeared at Norwich Crown Court on Thursday (July 19) via videolink from Norwich Prison.

He pleaded guilty to both offences when they were put to him in court.

The defendant was told he would be sentenced next week.

Judge Andrew Shaw said: “Mr O’Carroll, I haven’t got time to sentence you today.

“I will adjourn your case until Monday and sentence you on Monday.”

O’Carroll was told that he would be remanded in custody until Monday when he would be produced in person to be sentenced at the crown court.
