A businessman accused of being part of a fraud which conned victims out of more than £9m has told a court he never set out to mislead any customers.

Kevin Thurston, 32, of Fakenham Road, Taverham, along with Joe Lloyd, 29, Daniel Pye, 32 and Geoffrey Good, 66, are said to have defrauded customers by tricking them into signing up for satellite warranties that were not needed and mis-selling to stop nuisance calls.

Giving evidence at Norwich Crown Court, Thurston was asked by his barrister if it was ever his intent to give false information to customers, to which he replied: 'No.'

He said there were always discussions going on about how to get things right and improve things and said 'All of us said we wanted to eradicate mis-selling if we could.'

Thurston, along with Pye, of St Olaves Road, Norwich; Lloyd, 29, of Fakenham Road, Taverham, and Good of Aylesbury Close, Norwich all deny two counts of conspiracy to defraud.

The trial continues.
