A man who attempted to flee from police in Norwich was found to be holding more than £1,000 in cash and Class A drugs.
Norfolk Police’s special officers arrested the man after checking an address in the Larkman Lane area of the city at around 10.30pm on Friday.
The team of seven officers had been looking for a wanted man at the time.
During the search, a man matching his description attempted to run away from officers, but was caught and detained.
He was found to be carrying cash, as well as “some” Class A drugs and a “large quantity” of Class B drugs.
Special sergeant Wilton said the man, who is in his mid-30s, was not the individual the team had been looking for.
He said: “We were in the process of checking an address and a male matching the description [of the wanted man] ran from the property.
“While we were in the process of detaining him, he was found to be in possession of some Class A and a large quantity of Class B drugs.”
He said the Class A drug is believed to be cocaine, while the Class B drug is “potentially” cannabis.
The man is currently under investigation.
In a Tweet, Norfolk Police’s special officers said: “Whilst out searching for a wanted male PCT officers ‘stumbled’ upon a male in possession of class A & B drugs with a large quantity of cash. You never know who’s around the corner!”
