A driver who knocked a motorcyclist off his bike, leaving him with a suspected fractured pelvis, has told how he is “so very sorry”.

Ben Peacock, 21, had been overtaking a group of five motorcyclists on the A134 near Thetford when his BMW struck one of the riders who was turning right.

The rider was knocked off his bike and “slid on the road” was later treated for injuries from a suspected cracked pelvis following the incident on November 11 last year.

Peacock, of Northwold, Thetford, did not appear but pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention by post ahead of Monday’s hearing at Norwich Magistrates Court.

He said: “I’m so very sorry to the injured party. This has really shaken me up.”

He was given eight penalty points, fined £135 ordered to pay £100 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
