Missing Norwich man in Thailand posts on social media

Messages of support have been sent to a Norwich man whose social media posts from Thailand have prompted concerns for his safety.

Steven Rickett, 35, posted a video on Facebook on June 4, the content of which has caused concern for his safety among friends, family and the authorities.

Mr Rickett has since posted again, as a search is under way in Thailand to locate him and make sure he is safe.

On Wednesday morning GMT, Mr Rickett posted a further update on social media, and friends have continued to post messages of support.

Norfolk Police has said they are liaising with the Thai authorities to try to find Mr Rickett.

“Officers are aware of a video posted on social media by Steven which prompted concerns for his safety,” a spokesperson said. “We have liaised with the National Crime Agency and authorities in Thailand are aware and trying to establish his whereabouts. “Anyone who hears from Steven is asked to contact Norfolk Police on 101 immediately.”
