A man who fled Cornwall with about £500 of dealers' drugs was caught following a police raid in Norwich, a court has heard.
Dean Miller, 21, a drugs user, had taken crack cocaine and heroin from dealers in Cornwall when he came up to Norwich.
Miller had been staying with a drugs user in Norwich but paying him with drugs in lieu of rent.
But Miller was caught with the drugs when police carried out a raid on the property in Globe Place in May this year.
Miller, from Cornwall, admitted possession with intent to supply heroin and crack cocaine.
Jonathan Goodman, mitigating, said this was a young man who has been 'battling an addiction for a considerable period'.
He said: 'If it continues his life is one which will be short and brutish.'
The court heard that Miller was 'more worried about what's going to happen to him in Truro than in Norwich.'
Sentencing has been adjourned until August.
