A man remains in hospital nearly two weeks after he left a moving car on the A149 at Stalham.

The victim fell on the road near to Richardson’s Boatyards.

Members of the public came to his aid until the East of England Ambulance Service arrived. He was then taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge with serious injuries, where he remains.

A Norfolk police spokesman said that a man in his 20s, from the Great Yarmouth area, who was arrested on suspicion of assault, has been interviewed and released under investigation.

A spokesman said: “The investigation is ongoing. The injured person is still in hospital.”

The incident happened at about 8am on Tuesday, September 12.

Police said a red BMW 1 series was travelling in the direction of North Walsham from Great Yarmouth, when a man was seen to leave the moving vehicle, from the passenger side. The driver of the BMW failed to stop.
