A man is in a critical condition in hospital following a fall at a hospital in King’s Lynn.

The man, who is in his 30s, was a patient at the time of the incident which happened outside the Fermoy Unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital at about 1.20am on Tuesday, June 25

He remains in a critical condition at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the matter.

And due to a police presence at the time of the incident and earlier police contact with the man, by officers from both Norfolk and Cambridgeshire Constabularies, the matter has been voluntarily referred on behalf of both forces to the Independent Police Complaints Commission for their consideration.

The Fermoy Unit is an adult mental health ward run by the Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.
